Video in the works + Relocating

The last few months have been very busy, productive, and slightly hectic. I’ve been commuting to New York City for a part time acoustic engineering job as well as working a part time retail job at home in Connecticut. Since I finished my CD, Big Thoughts in a Small Place, I’ve been working on putting out my next YouTube video.

This one will be rather different than the videos I’ve already posted. It’s a music video for a song composed entirely of household items, including bottles, PVC pipes, pick-up sticks, and more. Check out a few preview pictures below.

The idea came to be almost a year ago, but it has taken me a while to really start putting things together (it can be hard to find the time to make bottle xylophones and cut PVC pipes to specific bass notes). However, I see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I’m looking to get this video posted some time within the next two weeks. Watch for it!

As for the rest of my going-ons, I’m moving to New York City at the end of this week. I’ll be off to live life as a part time acoustics consultant, part time musician/blogger/video maker/private music instructor (that’s the plan at least). I’m hoping that I’ll be able to focus a little more heavily on all of these side projects I’ve conjured up.

In the mean time, here are a few post ideas I have floating around, so look out for these in the future:

– Developing improvisation skills

– Continuation on the circle of fifths

– Understanding and utilizing modes

Also, I’d like to genuinely thank anyone who has been following this blog. If you like what you’ve read, please consider sharing this site with someone who might like it too. I know I haven’t been the most consistent in terms of posting, but I have high hopes for the near future. Have a good one.
